Clair McDonald developed the masterplan for Poppintree Park, a 20ha site located between the communities of Finglas and Poppintree Ballymun, Dublin, in association with Ballymun Regeneration Limited. Community involvement through workshops was critical to the process.

The site, in essence, was an open field, which served local recreational clubs in the main, but also offered potential owing to the tree line structure and requirements for local storm water attenuation. Image October 2002 (Google Earth)

Today the award-winning park offers respite not alone for the local communities to its east and west, but to an entire host of native species of conservation concern, as a result of the lake and wet grassland habitats created, which contributes greatly to biodiversity in the area. field.scale.studio designed a scheme for a new residential development adjacent to Carton Avenue, Maynooth. As part of a wider masterplan, a greenway link between Carton Avenue and Dublin Road was incorporated and central to the scheme. The greenway was aligned with a 19th century field boundary hedgerow that formed part of a geometric field pattern locally.

A 7-10 year hedge restoration and management programme was devised for the historic hedgerow boundaries in association with Independent Tree Surveys.
